Brest Screening

The North London Breast Screening Service aims to ensure that nation initiatives and targets are met.

Ladies who have missed their appointment can contact the unit on 020 3758 2024 to reschedule an appointment. We also advise that this also applies for ladies age 70 upwards who will need to request their mammogram themselves by contacting the unit.

The North London Breast Screening Service has implemented various initiatives in 2014 with the aim of increasing uptake across the eligible population served.

• Circulation of a pre-invitation letter for all first time clients prior to the timed appointment being distributed.
• Text message reminders for clients prior to their breast screening appointment.
• Sending of a further timed appointment to all clients who DNA their breast screening appointment.

Cervical Screening

Cervical Screening is one of the best ways to protect yourself from cervical cancer. The test checks for any abnormal cell changes in your cervix, finding cell changes early means they can be monitored and treated, reducing the risk of cells turning into cancer. Women aged 25 to 49 are eligible for a smear test every 3 years and women aged 50 to 64 are eligible for the test every 5 years. Invitations are sent out when the test is due. Try not to put of cervical screening – upon receipt of an invitation – please book an appointment with one of our practice nurses.
